John Eldridge has over 30 years in the marine industry with a diverse range of experience. John graduated Cum Laude from the Canadian Coast Guard Officers Training College in 1987. He spent 15 years with the Canadian Coast Guard as a Deck Officer and Senior Search and Rescue Coordinator.

In 1995, John founded Quoddy Link Marine, an award-winning passenger vessel/eco-tourism operation, to improve efficiencies and reduce the company’s environmental footprint. John additionally researched and developed a hybrid marine propulsion solution.

In 2006, John co-founded XeroPoint Energy to further develop and commercialize hybrid technology for the marine market. The XeroPoint Hybrid system was commercially developed and deployed on the world’s first, second and third hybrid ship assist tugs. The system has received patent protection and EPA verification as an emission reducing technology.

Over the past 10 years, John has been involved in the design and development of advanced parallel and series hybrid marine propulsion systems. His duties have included system design (mechanical, electrical and control), system evaluation, marketing and sales, project management and commissioning.

Chris has more than 20 years experience in product development.  A graduate of the University of New Brunswick, Chris holds both a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Diploma in Technology Management and Entrepreneurship.

He has served as the top technology executive in multiple firms both public and private such as International Datacasting, Pleora technologies, and Stratford Managers.  Chris’ last role prior to joining Breakwater, was Co-CEO of International Datacasting, a publicly traded company on the Toronto Stock Exchange

Mike Pickett is the owner and founder of MNP Design with over 16 years’ experience in engineering design, manufacturing and product development.  He has a Mechanical Engineering Degree and Bachelor of Science from Dalhousie University and is a licensed Engineer in Nova Scotia.

Mike has a diverse engineering background with experience working in the automotive, marine and agricultural sectors, having roles from Design Engineer to Product Manager.  His background in controls, integration, machine design and 3D modeling & simulation, coupled with broad industry experience enable him to contribute to a wide variety of technical solutions.

William Jamer

William Jamer has more than 45 years of experience in the Marine industry. A graduate of the Canadian Coast Guard College’s Marine Engineering program, Bill possesses a First-Class Marine Engineering Certificate.

In addition to considerable sea-time and operational experience as a ship’s officer, he has an extensive background as a marine inspector, contract manager and senior government manager. He has also been a successful consultant to marine and shore-based industries both in Canada and internationally.

Throughout his career, working with both public and private organizations, Bill has held leadership roles in the implementation of major marine projects and in management of relationships between industry and government.

In his previous position as Senior Director Marine Systems at Public Works and Government Services Canada he managed the Government of Canada’s marine procurement program. Later he was the Director General Integrated Technical Services at Canadian Coast Guard and managed the Coast Guard’s marine technical program.
